I do not recommend working for this company unless you are a door-mat. If you can handle being talked down upon, management choosing favorites, being biased, and talking behind your back, then this is the job for you.
Management (specifically Valory Torres) is one of the most unprofessional, fake, bully out there. She pretends to like you and promise you important roles (like taking over her job) and if you even remotely try to stick up for yourself she takes it as offense, and intimidation. She has obviously a napoleon-complex, and ego the size of her a**.
Things she has gotten away with : laughing & talking behind peoples back, coming to the office drunk, giving insulin to a patient (Pumpkin Flick-for reference) at 1am in the morning drunk, changing peoples time cards, as well as getting away with anything she wants simply because, well I’m not sure why. The schedule was never done - we got our hours maybe a week in advance. When asked about it, I was talked down upon and was not allowed to ask questions.. There are no official breaks, even if you work 8 hours +. There’s no such thing as asking for a regular day off - you’re not allowed to chose what days you need off. She will bully you into working overtime because she doesn’t want too- the schedule is worked around her needs/wants.
She will comment on your makeup, scrub color, perfume, and basically anything she does not “like” - I don’t know how it isn’t considered harassment.
Dr. B is a great doctor. I think he does amazing for the clients and patients but he is simply blinded by anything that goes on in the company - specifically his employees and management. He will not take your side no matter the case, because he is not capable to stand up for himself or his employees. He is more concerned about the issues between him and his ex - partner at the Staten Island office. Also, since being the only doctor in the BK office, be aware he’ll be late-Sometimes very late. Which will set the entire day back and frustrate the customers... and that makes our job harder.
Most of the women who work there are catty, and gossip like they in high school ... meanwhile they are old enough to be grandmothers.
I do not recommend this place if you are looking for a healthy environment to grow in your vet career... simply toxic and dysfunctional.
